from every point in space we've come to this place, so how can, it not be fate, when we were made this way?

I remember when one of my friends said i was an idiot because i said only models were beautiful. And i'm not talking about the girls on Hollyoaks, i mean really stick thin girls who look like they bypassed puberty. Girls with perfectly symmetrical faces and long, long legs. Well, i hate to admit it but, he was right. Au Revoir Simone aren't models but just search for them on Flickr and you will find hundreds of magical photos of them which are more captivating than anything i've come across in a magazine.

I'm going to see them in London next month, i can't wait!
My friend said The Way to There was their worst song but it came on my computer as i was packing up my room in France and i love it, especially when it get to 5.00

Ever since seeing these Miu Miu platforms i've been on the look out for some myself so i was really excited to see my friend owned these Office platforms. She has given them to me because they're too difficult to walk in but they're also too lovely to leave for the charity shop, non?

Amber is for Caution

I have never been one for coffee table books, mainly because i don't have a coffee table and live with my parents. But when i do eventually grow up and move out i'm going to get some so people think i'm interesting.

This is a book about model Amber Milam. Or should i say ex model. From what i've read she's kind of wreckless and crazy but above all beautiful and the combination of which makes for some amazing photos.

The photos were taken by photographer, Valerie Phillips, who met Amber when she was 15 and just starting out in modelling.

(Teen Vogue, May 2010, Karlie Kloss)

Why are teenage girls nowadays so cool? This is something that has perplexed me for a while now. If i had access to magazines like Teen Vogue i'm sure i wouldn't have started worshiping nu metal during secondary school. Anyway, one of my really good friends who is all grown up obsesses over Teen Vogue and after seeing this shoot i can see why.

When i was in France all the students used to go on about Abercrombie and Fitch and Russell Athletics, i think preppy is definitely going to be a big trend this year...

Everyone who knows me knows i basically hate anything vibrant and prefer to dress in black, navy, cream and a range of other dull colours. Proenza Schouler, one of my all time favourite designers, proves that colour can be wearable and unpredictable and exciting and definitely, definitely not lame. I am in love with this collection! Even green looks good and green is usually very, very wrong. So now i need this Proenza inspired dress in my life, £52 from Urban Outfitters...

L-R £28, £28, £26

Despite the fact i'm not going on holiday this year i'm obsessed with finding the perfect bikini. I have trawled through loads of websites only to find the best ones all come from Urban Outfitters. I could easily wear any of the above but this one for £26 is my personal favourite. Stripe and floral, what's not to like?

Having said that, i did find an interesting Chloe one on net-a-porter but 171 euro is a little too much for something only going to be worn in the back garden, right?

You know there are some outfits that just work better without tights? I'm really excited it's sunny in London and i'll be looking to Chloe for style inspiration this summer. I normally hate vintage clothing, well it doesn't suit me anyway, but i'm really liking this 90's resurgence. It's grunge but with a girly element and far less try hard than all that 50's housewife crap.

Experimenting with a home made filter. We cut out a piece of plastic from a DVD case, drew a circle of vaseline on it and stuck it to the lense of my camera.

Paris J'taime

My summer in Paris went so fast.

between the click of the light and the start of the dream

When i was younger i always wished i was a skateboarder and despite being a feminist i also realised that most girls didn't look half as cool skating and so i've always been a little bit disappointed that i wasn't born a boy. I did try skating once. I begged my parents for a proper skateboard, but after i fell off my friends crappy one i never got back on so erm...yeah, good call on my parents behalf. But i still love everything about it; the passion, the don't care attitude, the music on skate videos. Even the sound of the board rolling along the ground.

It's a shame i've basically thrown out everything that fits the mid 90's bill under the pretence that it was all ugly. Now i'm trying to get hold of as many oversized jumpers, tees and ripped denim as possible. But not the baggy jeans, you can keep those.

Kids is one of my favourite films, purely for the aesthetic. Ah, how i wish i lived in NY during the 90's!

I have always been interested in youth culture and if i ever did decide to go back to university i'm sure i would do a phd on this topic. But i've also been really nostalgic recently. My friends and i ate so much pic 'n' pix yesterday i thought i was going to puke. Being a 24 yr old jobless graduate doesn't help.

L-R Topshop £75, Opening Ceremony £205, Whistles Nine West shoes, £35, Urban Outfitters, £75, 3.1 Phillip Lim £225, Outfitters 39.99
I have always been in love with cut out detail but recently i've noticed it creeping into stores more and more. The only way to do justice to the design (in my opinion) is by using cotton and organic fabrics. Which means paying more. It's got such a vintage vibe though that i'm sure it will still be wearable in 10 years time. At least that's what i'm going to tell myself when i buy the Phillip Lim dress.

Louis Vuitton

I was never a fan of Louis Vuitton until i saw Marc Jacobs' work. I love the ladylike feel with the edgy black straps. I've also found a much more wearable (and cheaper) version on the Urban Outfitters website for a reasonable £50...

I'm not usually keen on statement necklaces as they're usually worn by people who are over forty and just started up their own PR company with their divorce money and generally enjoy making a statement. But then i came across this. Topshop really need to rip it off!

(Dannijo, Net a Porter, £450)

I have ummed and ahhhed over these tights for a good few months, i was disappointed upon buying them that my friend thought they made me look like a prostitute with high wasted shorts. But pleasantly surprised they made an otherwise dull house-on-the-prairie Topshop dress so much more interesting.

One of my friends at secondary school used to be completely obsessed with Kirsten Dunst.
As i have grown older i have become more aware of how truly mesmerising she is on screen. She is so ordinary but not in the least bit plain. And i'm sure my friend has completely forgotten about her.

I am in the process of restocking my wardrobe with all things, light, airy and Virgin Suicides esque. Even my room is starting to look like some Laura Ashley tribute. Fitting seeing as they will probably go into administration some time soon.

Whilst most grown ups would rather go sockless than wear drab, grey cotton socks i love how they're reminiscent of growing up. Paired with brown, leather clogs and clumpy heeled shoes they can't help but bring attention to your legs. Which makes them kind of sexy. And that confuses normal people.

There are very few things i like about London. But one of them is Coco Sumner.

R-L Barbour, £280, Bamford Socks, £40, Boots, Dorothy Perkins, £45, Tshirt, T by Alexander Wang, £50, Shorts, Topshop, £35

Despite the fact the weather is getting warmer and warmer with each day i'm still craving oversized knitwear Margaret Howell style.

people always leave, sometimes they come back

How amazing is this? As soon as my hair grows back to its natural state i'm going to have it dip dyed. I thought this look would have already taken off but apparently most people don't want to look like they've had a hair colour disaster. I've always preferred hair colour with the roots grown out though and this really just accentuates that.
